Description:

Undulating, a few short hills, ancient woodland trails through oak, beech and fir, open heathland with long canters. Sandy and gravel tracks. Ford crossing but well maintained bridge if weather has been bad. Panoramic views with a few horse friendly gates. Fabulous spacious Venue!

£10 per horse for camping and corralling. Please note there is no stabling on the venue

CLASS 10/11 – TRY A VETGATE

Thinking about having a go at a vetgate next season? Why not give one a go over a shorter distance for a practice? Any questions please contact organiser

 

RUFUS TEAM EVENT:

Rosettes to the champion and reserve team, 4-6 riders, best 3 scores count, any class. Team mileage must be a total of 200km or more. Extra 5 points awarded for SCT, junior/young riders, Novice horse/rider, veteran horse 15+, veteran rider 55+.

 

The team entry form can be downloaded from the Mid-South website and either emailed to rufusegb@outlook.com or presented to the secretary before 10am on the day of the ride.

 

SOUTH COAST TOURNAMENT QUALIFICATION:

Open to any member of South-west, Wessex, Mid-South and South-east groups, who have completed three national rides run by these groups with a grade 4 or above. Completions in CER’s (for advanced combinations) or at The Golden Horseshoe also count towards qualifications. It is the horse that qualifies for the

class. The classes are judged using the Rufus scoring system and there will be rosettes and prizes to 6th place.

 

For 80 km SCT (Open and Advanced Combinations) please enter class 1 making sure that you insert the words "SCT" in the Comments box of the entry form please. Special award for the horse or rider completing their first 80km.

 

For 68 km SCT (Open and Advanced Combinations) please enter class 2 making sure that you insert the words "SCT" in the Comments box of the entry form please. Special award for the horse or rider completing their first 65km.

 

For 41 km SCT (Open and Advanced Combinations) please enter class 3 making sure that you insert the words "SCT" in the Comments box of the entry form please. Special award for the highest placed veteran horse.

 

For 41 km NOVICE HORSE SCT please enter class 4 making sure that you insert the words "SCT" in the Comments box of the entry form please.

 

For 34 km NOVICE HORSE/ NOVICE RIDER COMBINATION SCT please enter class 6 making sure that you insert the words "SCT" in the Comments box of the entry form please.

Restricted crewing for larger vehicles - check with Organiser

 

A charge of £1 is payable with entry to cover the Forest Permit. Online entries will have this fee added automatically.

PLEASE NOTE: the 80km classes will have one hold

The New Park Rufus Ride runs on the last weekend of the EGB National Ride calendar. We have a range of classes from a 80km GER class to 16km PR.
